Book Review: Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent.

I’m not usually a great fan of thrillers but there is nothing like being told you can’t have something to make you want it more. When my friendly librarian told me that Liz Nugent’s new book has a waiting list longer than any other book in the library, I decided I needed to read it.

If you haven’t heard of this Irish author, you will soon because Liz Nugent is about to get terrifying on a global scale. Her dramatisation of Dublin in the 1980s sure sent a thrill of familiarity down my spine but you don’t have to be Irish (I’m told) to appreciate the terror of a controlling matriarch. That said, when we Irish do dysfunctional we do it with scary commitment.

  1. I’m not much of a fan of a thriller but your review, along with the obvious interest in the author around the globe piques my interest. I’m off to the library to see how long the wait is here!
